How can I be added to the register of shareholders for a stock?

Updated on 12 August 2021

The first time you buy a registered share in a Swiss company, you will receive in the e-Statements section of BCV-net a request form in order to be added to Swiss shareholder registers. Once you sign and return that form and it is saved in our records, you will be automatically added to shareholder registers for all other Swiss registered shares you buy on TradeDirect.
If you buy a share in a foreign company, you cannot be added to the shareholder register through BCV. However, you may request a statement of share ownership in order to exercise your voting rights.
